Current Duties

Weekly Checklist:

  • Print Store Metrics
  • Review Store Front (signs operational)
  • Verify Change Fund (safe deposit bags)
  • Review current store promotions and communications
  • Contact customers on previous sales
  • Sweep / Mop floor
  • Clean Cash Wrap / Including POS and Ipads
  • Clean and check POS Pin pad for tampering
  • Clean Windows / Doors / Knobs / Handles
  • Stock and Refresh Bar / Drink Areas (i.e. Cash wrap and cooler) AM / PM
  • Clean Gondolas , Counters, other surfaces
  • Stock Shelves from Overstock AM/PM
  • Block and Face, Restock AM/PM
  • POG (planograms) / On Hand Verification
  • Take Out Garbage
  • Registers / iPads “ON” / Plugged In EOD (end of day)

OPEN and CLOSE Store duties:

Store Open:

  • Unlock front door / gate
  • Clock In
  • Turn on lights
  • Log on to back office Open Store function
  • Log on to register program
  • Open Till
    • Count cash in drawer
    • Initialize balance in drawer for the day
  • Verify previous deposits

Store Close:

  • Balance till for the day
  • Calculate deposit (cash taken in over daily cash amount set for drawer)
  • Prepare cash deposit bag
  • Assemble EOD transaction report, Register Open balance receipt, Register Close Receipt, deposit bag number slip, any employee purchase receipts
  • Record deposit in deposit log: bag number, deposit amount and sign
  • Clean and organize daily operations paperwork
  • Turn off lights
  • Take out trash
  • Lock door / front gate and leave.

Planograms:

  • Clean Section
  • Review current planogram (placement of products on shelves)
  • Rotate / Markdown products
  • On-Hand verify
  • Print shelf tags
  • Down Stock from overstock
  • Record Known Loss (expired products)
  •  

Cash Register Operations:

  • Process sales:
    • Cash
    • Credit / Debit
  • Process Returns
  • Process item discounts
  • Enter and verify customer accounts / rewards accounts
  • Process customer coupons
  • Advise customer of how promotions and loyalty accounts will save them money
  •  

Process Buy Online Pick Up In Store orders

  • Check online order system for existing pick up orders
  • Pick and pack order for pickup
  • Process order during customer pickup with customer order and ID verification
  •  

Store Product Shipment Receiving

  • Verify number and condition of products received for store inventory
  • Process and add products to store inventory and place in correct location in store.
  •  

Customer facing interaction:

  • Welcome customers into store
  • Interact with customers to determine customer goals and needs
  • Direct customer to relevant products to meet their wellness goals
  • Advise customer of current sales and promotions
  • Advise customer of complementary products to build the basket
  • Process sale at register
  • Promote premium membership and product order subscriptions.

Work independently throughout shift with minimal supervision from manager.

Perform all general store operations solo during shift up to 8 hours per shift.

Seasonal Retail Customer Advisor

Host:

• Welcoming customers into store.
• Determine customer needs and direct them to the correct product and location of product in store.
• Direct customer to correct department: customer service, Geek Squad, or In-Store Pickup, Recycling,
• Communicate via radio to floor leader and sales that customer is heading towards store department and needs purchasing assistance.
• Monitor CCTV’s for store customer activities. Report suspicious activities to floor leader. Coordinate with law enforcement on incidents.
• Responsible for minimizing product shrink or loss at Asset Protection desk.
• Verify receipts as customer is leaving store with Zebra Device.
• Thank customers for shopping and ask if they found what they needed if leaving without purchase.
• Complete employee / vendor possession inspections: i.e. bags and store keys.
• Inspire customers on current promotions.
• Assist with In Store Pickup orders: Scan / lookup order, locate item and complete pickup.

Front Registers:
• Process payments: Cash, Credit Cards, Gift cards.
• Lookup customer account and update any changes. Advise customer of credits.
• Advise customer of available protection plans.
• Process new credit card applications through POS terminal.
• Remove products from protective cases / spider wraps.
• Knowledge of POS register functions.
• Process store credit card payments.


Achievements: Employee of the Month: December 2025. Drove attachment rate of 12% for protection plans at register (goal is 10%).
